Hi, I am new to this site. I ran across Jeff Hanson's photos of his LS7 install in a 69 camaro. I am going down that same path and was wondering how to find out more particulars on what was done on Jeff's car. thanks.
I am interested in using the dry sump approach and hopefully the original cross member. It looks from the photos that Jeff used the original and modified it. I was intersted in what modifications to the original camaro are necessary and those that are necessary to the LS7 engine. I am aware of the aftermarket clips that allow the install but I was hoping to modify the original. My understanding is there is a pan depth conflict with this approach but that is not evident in the photos. Any thoughts or advise would be appreciated. I am just starting on the motor so all options still exist.
thanks.
Jeff did an LS2 not an LS7. We make most of the parts to install the LS7 into a 1st gen with no mods. We even make an Ls7 dry sump pan for the 1st gen Camaro.
