GM probably realized this and placed a bigger cooler on top of the blower on the LS9/A, while the Harrop/Maggie config uses the smaller cooler underneath the blower.
I talked to one engine shop who is seeing more power out of the Maggie setup over the LS9 and his reasoning is because it might be less restrictive.
