Cool Delima

I have a '68 Camaro that I am getting ready to build. Right now I am in Afghanistan and will be coming home for the Thanksgiving holiday. While I am home, I plan on getting it out to a body shop to have it worked on while I am back here in Afghan.

In my garage, I also have a 2001 SS that was wrecked just before I came over. The the motor and tranny are ripe for the picking so my delima is:

Is it worth pulling the motor / tranny to put in the '68? Or should I just sell it? Longer down the road I don't think I will stay with the LS1.

Any opinions? I am just trying to sort out my plans because I will only be home for about two weeks before returning to Afghanistan and want to have plans for both cars when I get there.

Why would you not keep the LS1 in the '68 and what would you switch to?

Would you switch to an old school SBC or BBC or to a newer gen LSx?

Oh, and thanks for serving our country!

Steve,

Well I was thinking about selling the LS1 and the car to get the body and frame right. I was also thinking like you said a BBC or newer LSx.

XcYZ,

I am a U.S. Marine but got out shortly before the war, so I came back as a contractor medic.

Jonny,

I am not sure that if I put all the time and work into making that LS1 work. Then wanting to change later. I am still looking for information on what is involved in making the LS1 work. And if I changed later how much of a pain it would be, or how much it would change my engine bay. I figure that I woud get the car right, then decide on the drivetrain.

Thank you all for your support.

Please let your buddies know we are behind you 100%.

The Democrats Suck!

I'm sorry you have to listen to their Crap.

Keep up the good work and stay safe.

Ty

BTW: Once you get your car going, I also live in the D/FW area. Maybe we could find some fun cars shows to hit?

Thanks again!
