OK, I need everyone's help here with some decisions. We're sorting out a repop hood to fit and wondering if we should; A) just make a stock hood in carbon fiber (with a little tweaking to the grill so it is cut out with 2 vent holes backed up with the same aluminum hexagonal grill as our frist gen cowl panels) or B) add the L-88 style scoop with tweaks to it to conform to the lines of the hood better (like flare it out from a top view to match the angle of the lines on the hood) or C) make the stock style with provisions to accept the L-88 or other style scoops like the air extractor pictured as separate bolt on pieces? I guess the real question is, does anybody want a stock style cf hood with no whistles and bells?
I am partial to cowl. 2" is safe. IMO taller the better. Big NOGO on the L88, for some reason it has a bad rep. I think you might have something with the small vents. Placed properly they might be the ticket as an option to set off the stock hood. To appeal to the masses, I think a stock hood and a 2" cowl will be your best bet for offerings. I think you should cut out the small vent lines and insert large pieces of your octagon mesh (I think you metioned this in the post?). That would look great. IMO

I like the original flat hood, but 2 of the small vents might look good molded in, especially if they were reshaped to follow the lines of the nose on the car. Also, the teardrop scoop found on the 78ish z/28 might look good if it were made functional and molded in properly.
