Default What starter do I use?

Ok I have the Lt1 t56 on my 406 sbc and I have broke A LOT of starters. The autozone guys are starting to get suspicious , lifetime warranties rock. I am using the centerforce steel flywheel and I keep snapping the ear off the starter where it bolts to the block and I have even snapped the nose off a few times. I am using the same starter that would come on the 93-97 maro's/ta's I also have tried shimming and that has not helped either. I dont think my compression is to high I'm at 10.5:1...

Is it time for a high torque starter or do I have another issue?

most of the hi torque starters are mitsubishi type and are engineered well.. better than oem GM.. but for the most part it doesnt matter what company puts the mitsubishi starter in an taiwan made aluminum block to adapt it to GM.. so any gear reduction unit from summit or jegs, or whatever will outperform and outlast your repro GM unit

if you want somthing to cause no headaches at all id get a tilton, but everyone has their own favorite..
