Thanks for the welcome! As the car sits right now, it is almost completely original. It is a 62 Electra 225, so nearly everything is over 45 years old

. It has a 401 cubic inch Nailhead V8 with a 4 barrel carb backed by a Dynaflow tranny. The brakes are currently four wheel drums

.
My short term plans are to rebuild it concentrating on areas that are going to enhance the safety and driveability of the car so I can go cruising with the family with less fear. It is looking like I will be starting with rebuilding the suspension, keeping it mostly stock except for lowering it, using better shocks and larger antiroll bars. As long I have the front suspension torn apart I will also upgrade to front wheel disc brakes. I'm going to try to get that done (finances permitting) before I go to Iraq. When I come back then I will start getting into bodywork and the like.
Long term, I am planning on fuel injecting the Nailhead, however I will be keeping the Dynaflow because it is unique and sooo smooth. I will also be getting some larger rims (17" or so) in the pursuit of better handling. Overall, I am aiming for the feel of a European luxury car...a smooth ride with excellent handling.
BTW: I was led to this forum by search for pics for 61 and 62 Buicks. I found a pic of the car owned by 61Bubbletop...very cool.
