Hope to get some good info from here about suspension, wheel/tire combos, tranny, etc. I have a 70 Camaro that's been a street/strip car for about 7 years now, and it's time to convert to handle some turns, plus paint it and finish the interior. It's just a pump gas, all motor 406 SBC, 10.5:1, AFR heads, roller cam, yada yada, TH350 with 4.10s. It's been 11.05 @ 120.7 with a 1.509 60' time about 6 weeks ago, and it was pretty hot. I'm gonna run one more time this weekend (with 60 degree temps) to try for a 10.9x pass before I start tearing the car down.
My plans for the car are: keeping the engine the same (runs good enough already) for a while anyways, switching to a 5 or 6 spd, new suspension - lowered, minitub and narrowed 9" with about 3.73-3.90 gear, 315/35-17 rears and 275/40-17 fronts, modernizing the interior some, fuel cell (still run stock tank, lines, and Carter mech pump now

), oh, and new paint and trim.
My other project is a 1947 Chevy truck. It's being built as a driver/resto rod type truck with mainly stock look but updated chassis.
I live just a few miles from Summit Point Raceway in WV, so if any of you go to any club meets there, let me know. That's another reason to change to car from strictly straight line to handling the curves, since I can even hear the cars there on the weekends. Looking forward to meeting new people too.
