Default Lead's 'caged sled....

Just tought i'd post a few updates on the car's framing. With the blown rat, its gonna need this....

















It is much more solid than it was, even tough its really in good structural cond from the start.

I had the whole underside and frame sand blasted before sending it out for the cage. Now its back, i'm gonna fill the firewall, change the skins and do general body work.

I'm thinking of getting it in black epoxy for the summer and shake it some during the summer to tune and take the bugs out of it then strip it down next winter and paint it.

I'm getting the rear cut down and am running 30 x 13.5 ET Streets in the tubs. The car will sit like the front in the front pic but at the rear too.

Should be nice!

...So, '67 Camaro project with my laying around stuff out of my black 'vert. 468 BB and YSI blower, braked th400, 12 bolt/spool, 35 splines etc. Complete Calvert suspension front and rear. 30x13.5 ET Streets, caged, lightened, slammed and running low 9's "Street car"

Looks great...that's a lot of tubbing!! Cant wait to see it assembled and at ride height!

Thanks guy's,

It was a lot of work... I wanted the cage to be as unobstrusive (spell?) as possible. The rear down tubes are bent to follow the 1/4 glass so when the top is down you still have the shape of the car not just a cage. I think it looks good. Also, i wanted to keep my rear seat somewhat so we routed the tubes accordingly.

I still want to add a few gussets here and there (some under the dash and maybe at suspension point in floor.

I'm just questionning my usage of my Air ride Air bar now...With some 900 pony's in front, my fab friend is skeptical it will stay in one piece for very long with the brake on at the tree. I just don't want to give it up, not a big fan of ladder bars on the street...
