Because most people have NO idea what to do with a show car.. Sometimes these cars are their daily drivers and now they are "too nice" to even drive.. or have bad overheating problems..

I guess there is no warranty on your Overhauled car??

Some of the people really are not "car people" and would rather just have the cash.. maybe to pay Uncle Sam since they are 1099'd for some of the value of the build.

1099'd and have to pay taxes... because they stole your car and made it pretty......... i'd be pissed. first i would be mad about "any" of my cars being foosified, then i would really be really mad when i got the bill for the "free" parts that i didnt authorize in the first place.

i think it would be great if they overhauled somebodies car.... and the owner hated it....if after being lied to for a week....the owner walked in, took a look at it, and told em to keep it... then demanded a check for some stupid high amount or his car EXACTLY like it was when they took it.

Well that wouldn't make it on TV of course, so who's to say it hasn't happened...

I am pretty sure Overhaulin has that covered.Whoever authorizes them to do the work assume's full responsibility if the owner does not like it.
