Default Need Seat Help

Hi Guys,

Need a little guidance. On my Porsche project after putting a backbone down through the center of the car - I have 18 inches of space for the driver and pax seats. My plans are to do 2 interiors - a Touring version and a GT version. What is the minimum of seat width ? Porsche cars have some of the smallest width seats - along with the c5/c6 vettes - so I'm wondering if I'll get it too tight somewhere around 17 - 18 wide ? My stock touring seats are 20 inches wide - and I plan to strip them down and cut 2 inches out of the middle - and do new foam and covers. For the GT version - I plan on using a 550 Spyder seat, split one down the middle and narrow it - then use that for a mold and do 2 in carbon.

1. Is 17 - 18 inches a reasonable width for a 36 inch waist and the Spyder style seat ? (With the Touring seat you sit on top of the pad)

2. How much room do you guys normally use up in carpet and deadener/padding ?

Thanks !!!!

Jim
