Default Tire Brand Selection

I'm at that all too fun tire/wheel stage of my 68 Firebird build and I really need some input. I don't plan on doing any hardcore racing...not yet anyways! However, I do plan on driving the bejesus outta this car and need a good tire for wet/dry traction. As an added bonus, something with a unique look to it is desired. I like the look of the Nitto 555's, however I hear their wet traction leaves much to be desired. What have you guys had luck with in the past? I appreciate any advice you have to give.

We've had good luck with the NT555's and wet traction, but the best by far are the Bridgestone Potenza's for wet and dry traction. You will love em... How much wet driving do you plan to really do though?

Honestly, I don't plan on doing too much. However, I spend a lot of time on the Northern California coastline and the windy mountain roads up there can be quite slick due to the ocean. I suppose I won't be driving in any torrential downpoors so the 555's should be good enough.
