Is there any short stroke factory crank for LS engines? I would like to build a modern version of a DZ302 based of a LS type engine. big bore short stroke.
As far as I have seen I think the difference between 4.8L, 5.3L, 5.7L and 6.0L
is basically same stroke different bore. So I assume aftermarkert crank is what I would have to do. Any input appreciated.
Gearhead you a right on 9800 redline sounds good to me
except I thought the 4.8 had same stroke as 5.3 and 5.7
Does anyone have a stroke/bore list for all the different factory LS engines

4.8 = 3.27 vs 5.3 = 3.62 not sure if the bearing saddles are the same or not
Westech that built the 302 out of the LS1. It used a 3.84 bore and 3.268 crank (4.8 Crank). It used the LS6/2001-2002 intake. TTS headers, Dyer Lite rods, ported LS6 heads(by Advanced Airflow) with pistons machined to match the combustion chambers, 1.9 ratio Jesel rockers and a 234/240 solid roller with .629 lift with a 110 lobe center. They did one thing a little different with the intake though , they ran the 2001 PCM program instead of modding the intake for the egr. I think it was a nice setup but the only way I would want to destroke an engine is if piston speed was over 4000 ft per second on a street car. Also I like short stroke power adder engines because I think that it is benefical to have a little overrev to work with. Just my .02.

Thanks Rybar,
I thought I had heard something like that engine once before.
With that much cam in it shouldn't it make a lot more horsepower then 435 at 6000RPM
even if at maybe 7000-7500RPM?
