If there is room, all should have it. Check out our Max-G frame.

Exhaust and fuel lines are easy in these cases. For exhaust, weld in some large diameter (1/2" larger than your exhaust pipe size) DOM as a pass-through, and bulkheads can be used for fuel and brakes.

Any type of crossmember is a good idea, but make sure it is placed properly so all strength benefits can be utilized, otherwise it will just make the car a bit fatter.
