I have 2 questions, Since when do you ask anyone if they have a picture, you take pics of everything, How did you miss that.

2nd is it even slightly possible she was local? Because Ohio is still the land of the Solid 6.5.

My .02!

I've never spoken to Chris Fesler for any length of time so I'll refrain from commenting on him as it wouldn't be fair. I have spoken to Kenny and Travis on many occasions and they are both VERY passionate about our hobby!
Do I think it was unfair that Troy got extra time? Before I answer that question, maybe we should wonder if ANYTHING is truly fair! Those that have paid their dues in any sort of event will always be granted extra perks because of their stature in that particular arena. That's why they call it "paying your dues". I wonder if Troy, in his earlier years, ever ran into this situation? I would bet that he did but he had to suck it up and move on.
I feel that he has earned the accomodation he was afforded. What bothers me is that a lot of this hostility is being focused on RRBT when it should be pointed at GG and the way they interpreted the rules but at the end of the day it comes down to this. It's there sandbox and if you want play in it you have to play with whatever rules they deem are fair!
Does it suck that you had to stress out and rush to get your car up and running while they were working on theirs( and I'm sure stressing out just as much as you guys)? Sure does but anyone that is coming up in any industry has the same uphill battle when it comes to having to try and squeeze in and take some of the market share away from the big boys along with them having the upper hand due to already being there and having the confidence of the people that can get you where you want to go.

Can't argue with any of that.

How many pictures Marty? Great to finally meet you. You too Roger, I was beginning to think this was a vertically challenged hobby.

Well said John. I did in fact talk at length with Chris Fesler and can say that in my opinion anything he and his team said come from that same passion for what they do. Some just express opinions more PC than others. I would caution forming long lasting opinions based on this weekend. Everyone had a lot of time and money invested and emotions run high. I think all involved are good shops and people. Let's move on. Some times the sweetest victories come when you have overcome what looks like favoritism. I know if Kenny, Chris, Jeff, Frank and so on go for SMOY again, they will all step up there game. When that happens, lookout. It will be something to see.

Later,

Since this has gotten so entertaining, here's my take on the whole situation....

I enjoyed the autocross but if it does not count toward anything, whats the point of making cars run it? Have a seperate award for cars that run the auto x, along with a quarter mile and a braking competition. The others can make a 100 mile round trip cruise to prove they function and compete for the SMOY. Dont seem that complicated to me. I dont know Chris Fesler personally, but that is due to the fact that he dissed me and didnt shake my hand when we were introduced a year ago. I do know Kenny Davis and I cant say enough about the advice and help he has provided over the past couple of years as we were breaking into this business. I really dont give a damn who wins any of the awards, congrats to those who do. The fun of an event like GG is drinking beer in the parking lot with the guys from KD Hotrods, John Henson, J. Rushforth, Schott wheels, and my friends I have known for thirty years. Car shows are no different than life itself, there will be dissapointments. Do you sit around and pout or move on? On a final note, I thought Razor was the best and deserved to win. Great car!!

Jim (the usually quiet half of PRRC)

hey now!

being from Ohio let me teach ya'll something!

if ya'll are in Ohio, lookin for good lookin 8-10 girls at a car show where a ton of old dudes hang out, good luck! you ain't gunna find it.

and Ohio girls arent much for bars and restaurants either.

Ohio is different, you gotta go out to the country and look for the Barn Parties!

Class dismissed!
