Default Hose/Carb question

Hello all,
How important is it to use the hose form the distributor to the carb? I just realized that I have been driving my truck without it.

Thanks, David

It depends on if it was hooked up to the 'timed signal' on a metering block or just to regular manifold vacuum.

I'd hook it up to the timed port on the metering block... as it works with the advance mechanism in the distributor... and it does help with low speed power, steady state crusing and fuel mileage.
