Thanks for the kind words! Things are working out now and I'm real excited about the project once again!!

Yes Pete does deserve any press/future customers he gets from this...but that's not why he's doing it. He's a great guy and just wants to help!

As for your car...you're a lot closer to Pete than I am! Might be worth looking into!

WOW...I just read this ENTIRE THREAD...and it literaly teared me up ALMOST! anyways point is I've lurked here and PT.COM for a long time and gained alot of useful info and I know EXACTLY what you went through Anthony but I have never posted my story here or anywhere because mostly I was embarrased more than anything I paid my paint guy more than you did AND he kept my car for a year longer than promised! needless to say it looks like I got a nice $2,500 paint job for my 9k! I threatned to have B.A.R. get involved and he started telling me "your painter is the last guy you want to piss off!" so the car has been sittin in the garage after It got out of the interior shop...It will get done over some day I hope only been @ it since 2002 so far! good luck and keep your head up I will try to send some funds your way! Once again this is what bein Car guys/gals is about! commaradrie (sp) at its best! rocks!

Comp-spec what an unbelievable thing you are doing i hope this gets out and the favor is returned 10 fold if you were just a little closer to N.y my project would be on its way to you for finishing.
Peter deserves great credit for this- he does stellar work and is a tru car guy at heart as well.
Oh and NY is NOT too far away if you want his work. I have customers from Oregon and California and IM in BOSTON- NY is only a few hours from here.
You want Pete's work? Make the drive.

I sent mine to Florida! Glad I did. 2000 in shipping sure beats a crappy job.

I agree- my long distance customers have paid Under $500 roudn trip to come out for a day to see how the job was going, see the shop in person (again) etc. Worth every penny to them and me.

Man this is an awesome thread. Was reading the November issue of Camaro Performers and saw mention of Scotts website then stumbled onto your thread. Sounds like things are looking up and the pics look great.

I guess I didn't follow it real closely I guess cuz I'm not sure where you took/sent your car. My 68's are also in Oregon (desert side so they're staying preserved) and wondering where to send mine. It'll be another couple of years (pending elections I guess) before I get a shop built but I was looking fwd to doing all the work myself. Wondering now if I should just farm it out.
Thanks for posting and glad the folks here appreciate family. Think I'm gonna dig this site. Glad Scott put the website in the mag! Cheers all!

1968 GTO, bought from a sailor buddy in 1990. Also needs lots of work. I took 2yrs of college body and fender (1998-2000) when stationed in SoCal but who has time now.
2006 GTO wanted speed now!

Thanks and welcome to the site!

The car was sent to Pete at Competition Specialties. He is doing a great job and I can't thank him enough! He's on the east coast, but the donations helped get the car there!

Mario donated the materials!

And Camaro Performers have been great to work with....thanks guys!
