Ron, weigh them and plug the dimensions into UPS's website-- they have an online shipment cost calculator.

Troy....my dad lives right down the road from a UPS store. He just needs to swing by real quick and get a quote. For some reason everytime I get a quote online its always cost more at the store.

Hey....he got the quote from Fedex. He said right at $100 to ship to the door with insurance for the total. So $300 to the door for (2) 335/35/17's. Let me know.

FYI on shipping with UPS. My dad's business is a pick up point for UPS packages (He has an account, weigh scales, labeling equipment, etc.). We learned that when shipping something from his store, if you only plug in the weight of the box and not the dimensions, you'll save yourself plenty of money, and it works. Obviously if you go to a terminal, they'll hit you with the maximum. For instance, I shipped a complete full trunk pan (yeah, the one we consumers get charged truck freight for) for a 68 Camaro back to a parts warehouse in Texas (I'm in southeast Louisiana). Are you sitting down? $22 from Louisiana to north Texas! I paid $125 to get it to me via truck freight!

The beauty of it is that the UPS driver calls each day to see if my dad has anything going out. On that day, the answer was "Yep". He pulls up, loads it, and off to Texas it goes! No questions.

Someone is ripping your dad off. It should cost maybe $15 each to ship the tires. Do not box them or do anything with them other than wrap shipping tape around the label and tire to hold the label there. UPS will send them no problems. TireRack and Discount Tire do it this way all the time. Four tires from Ohio to Georgia is $11 each and they strap them in pairs.

To quote it just tell the person at the UPS store that you have two items that weight whatever and they need to go to this zip. You'll pay more going to the store as the store has to make money some how to justify its existence but not $100. Or use FedEx is UPS doesn't want to play right.

It is a great deal. Good luck moving them
