Opinions on Kandy paints?

there is a black pearl color that honda uses that is about the best pearl black for not looking brown.

Also, if you add pearl over a solid colour, you'll be back with the same problems,of trying to match the colour again if it gets damaged.Although not as time consuming to repair as kandy, it'll still take someone who knows their stuff to get it looking right.If you're set on a pearl (mica), as race-rodz says, go for a factory colour, don't add it to an existing solid colour, there are some really good colours out there now hth

dont be afraid to go by and check out the progress..... i wouldnt feel bad about having somebody come in and take a look at it before the paint goes on. its your car, you have the final say in if its good enough or not. thats the beauty of having the car done local as opposed to shipping it up here. its bad enough the car has to be re-done.... this time i would make sure its up to par before you take delivery. that means you will have to check in regularly, with the time frame, you cant afford any healthy screw ups.

just let the body guy know that you already had issues with the way it was done the first time, and you WILL be checking in on the progress and quality this time. if anything looks "off" or doesnt seem right.... tell them, or feel free to ask.

btw...remember what i said about the "lap" joints in the mid of the panel.... make sure they DONT do it that way this time.

Yup, been there, done that, made a few Horrible colors that should have been the coolest. Often times it just does not turn out like it sounds!

I actually found a pearl, I think by HOK, called RED ICE, that when in the shade you could not see it, but in the sun it stood out and sparkled real nice. It was not a superfine pearl but more of a flake and gave it kind of a dirty look in the shade. It is hard to do anything with red other than leave it alone.
