i see cars with painted bumpers alot but my question is what is the correct way to paint and make them actually last!!!! i know there gotta be a trick to them holding up to driving etc. thanks brandon
Send them to a chrome shop and have them striped (probably $50 or less for a walk in customer). If they get it down to at least the nickel you can build from there, or they can go all the way to bare metal, but that takes longer and time is money. Either way you can epoxy prime and do bodywork, prime and paint
save yourself the trouble of grinding, sanding and wasting $$ on chemicals, the quickes, cheapest and easiest way is to drop it off at powdercoating shop, they can remove all chrome, apply etching primer and powdercoat it,it will outlast any paint, my guy charges me $40-60 a bumper
