All of those conditions - which often changed back and forth in a short distance - called for a different wiper speed, especially because I don't have a windshield washer installed and didn't want the windshield to streak. With a windshield washer it might not have been as big a deal, but under those conditioons I would have needed a 55 gallon windshield washer fluid reservoir.

As for the DSE kit, I just took a look at my '67 and '68. The '68 firewall hole for the wiper motor is sort of triangular with very rounded "points." The '67 firewall hole for the wiper motor is round. My guess is that the mounting plate for the '67 DSE kit is different than the '68 mounting plate.
That's a nice trip there in a 40 year old car.

Ok thanks for checking. I will call DSE Monday to confirm.

Enjoy the weekend.

Hey Mike, I checked my pics and mine has a round/oval shaped hole like you said your 67 is?? So maybe this will fit mine after all....

Hey Mike, what is the shape of the mounting plate with your kit? Round/oval or more triangular? Here is my firewall...

Interesting.... well my oval is a lot closer to your circle than a triangle!

My bad. I was looking at my project '68 (which is all wrapped up in a tarp) and pulled the tarp aside just enough to take a look. Turned out, I was looking at the wrong hole. I just took another look and mine is exactly like your picture (only not painted as nicely). It's quite diffrent than the '67 mounting point.

Any word yet? I'm ready to buy if you pass on SpeedshopMike's DSE wiper kit.

The word is that it's not worth it for me at this price.

Thanks for the offer, SpeedshopMike.
