Edelbrock makes a set that is supposed to keep the engine in the same spot in relation to the 1st gen small block. They also make stainless headers to fit the mounts. Check out Andrew's GTO he used the products and was able to retain the same shifter position and driveshaft. They make the kit for 2nd gen f-body as well as the a-body. From what I have read you can use the f-body pan in the 2nd gen camaro, it would be a better choice than the LH8 for clearance.
