If you're in the San Jose area, Goodies Speed Shop can do that all for you too. They can source all the parts for you too. If you call them, ask for Rich and tell him Allen sent you.

I was in the same boat as you recently and decided to go with Gearhead Garage in Sacramento.

If you must stay in the bay area and/or Sac area, I would strongly recommend them over the others. I did my research before going there.

Good luck.

If you're in the San Jose bay area, there is no better shop then CAR. CAR is one of the best in the nation. If you're in Sacramento call Gearhead Garage. Both shops are great and you won't go wrong with either..

Definetly do your research on the shops your considering. Check their license with the Bureau of Automotive Repair make sure its valid. Don't make the same mistake I did by looking at websites and seeing unfinished cars that have been in their shop forever. Find some cars that are finished and the owners are very happy with. It shouldn't be very hard to find finished cars and happy customers with good shops.

Good Luck with your search

Default California shop

We are in the business of getting cars done. We have completed MANY LS conversions over the past couple of years. If all you need is a motor/trans conversion, that is pretty simple fare. If you need more done, we can certainly accomodate- in a timely fashion. Advice is free, and maybe we can help you source an affordale transplant whether or not we do the install.

The guys at CAR are good people and could surely get you dialed. Most people here on Lat-G are stand up guys & stand up shops....but always do your homework. A good, reputable shop has nothing to hide.

You're not the 1st to go down this path. Whichever way you go, you will LOVE the LS platform in your car. My almost daily driven '68 Camaro conv't sports a MagnaCharged LS2 w/ 5-speed......best thing since sliced bread!!

Good luck in your venture!
