I'd literally have to tear his fence down. And isn't that breaking and entering? I'm not opposed to it, though.

How did the car get back there? Sounds like you had better call the police department and have them standby for an assist. Again make sure you have all the documents to prove it's yours.

I agree with Curtis, have your documents to prove it's your car and I would notify the police so that you don't put yourself into an even worse situation. Get your car back and I would take him to court, more than likely it's not the first time he has done this.

I would do whatever you can to get the car and then get the money later.

You said him and his wife were splitting up... Maby you can play that card. go talk to her and see if she will let you go in with a tow truck and yank it.

Honestly, I think the splitting up thing was a lie to detour me from going over to his house. I went by there this morning and the car is still in the back and his truck was there as well. I need a car trailer. I'd hate to get a tow truck out there for him not to show up. Not sure if they would sit there all day and wait like me.

It would be criminal mischief (vandalism).....I would have the truck there when he gets home. How did he get it back there?
