Default What med. duty box/pan brake?

I know there are so many chinesium brakes out there. I here that even many of the once great brands are just the same Chinese junk with the good name. I'm hoping to still find the right deal on a good "old" brake but if I end up with a new one who still makes a nice good quality for the price 48" 12-14ga box and pan brake?

I own a GRIZZLY TOOLS box and pan brake... it's a 40" version... and I love it. I agree with you - chinese stuff is usually to be scoffed at - but this brake and most small 'affordable' brakes are going to be imports. I think I paid 1200 or 1500 for mine... it's very well made.

Just FYI -- in my HOME SHOP (retired) I'm using BURR KING stuff - have an Italian cold cut saw... a milling machine - Miller TIG and MIG - Plasma cutter - bead blaster etc.... and I don't buy CHEAP STUFF....

Since I posted this I won on EBAY a like new Tennsmith 48" x 12ga box and pan brake with straight and 3 separate sets of different radius fingers. As a bonus I got several press brake dies hat I think the liquidators thought went to my machine. I can't wait to get it set up. Its a heavy bitch. The skid with the brake and fingers weighed 1700 lbs. From PA to my office in Dallas was 350.00 shipping. (gotta love Uship) The fun part was getting it off my trailer at home. My pallet jack and engine joist got a work out for sure.
