What a week... First the crate goes missing!! Then I find out it got there but is severly damaged! How do you destroy a crate made from 2x4's, 1/2" plywood, bolts, screws and nails!!! Now I got a box of damaged goods at Anvil!!! Wow what a week! And now the headache of fighting with the shipping company!

I've been following the project and am waiting patiently for pictures from anywhere of anything to do with this car.
I feel for you guys having to deal with the shipping companies, I've lost alot of time and money because of them too.
It will all come together. Any project of this scope is bound to have a few snags along the way. Hang in there!
And get some pics posted!!

I hope to be back on Ty's car full time in the next two weeks. Like I said earlier we had to take in a couple smaller projects to pay some bills and keep the lights on! But they should be done by end of month. I hope to have the firebird on the rotisserie by weeks end and get the bottom blasted and start on the floors and frame rail repairs in the spare time. I'll get some pics up this week of the progress.

We got a huge crate of 73 Firebird parts from Chad last week. The shipping company used it as an example of what not to do with a shipment, and everything showed up damaged or chipped. We decided to fix them here and fill in a few areas to make the CF parts nicer.
We started with the nose piece last Wednesday and filled in the bumper jack holes and front plate recess. It was my first time doing any body work so it was slow going. Matt came in and did the final shaping to make it perfect.
Here is the nose as we go it out of the crate:
Here I am making rough foam parts to fill in the large void where the front plate sits:
Then I begin learning how to sculpt with bondo! (note: I don't recommend filling a part like this that will ever see road time. For making a master tool it is just fine since the original will not be re-used after molding.)
All shaped and primered with the bumper jack points also filled:
Next we will fill in the cowl vents at the back of the hood and then fix a crack in the rear panel. Stay tuned!
