Payton King. He's running (at least on his yellow '69) a 21st Century Street Machine subframe.

Default Sorry I was away

from the computer since friday.

Anyway, I am running a 21st Centruy sub frame so a C5 Or C6 wheel bolts right up without any spacers. I know DSE designed their sub so you could have a little bit of a lip on the wheel. Call Mark at DSE and he can give you that info. Not sure on the AME sub, but Jack Ass is using one of those and running the ZR1 wheel, which is the same offset as the Z06 wheel, but 1/2 inch wider. May want to ask Charlie or Stielow if they used a spacer up front. On the rear, I am sure they built the rear to the correct width. I am running regular C6 stuff on the rear but had mine built to length. I am running a very small spacer on each side as I did not want it too wide and also be able to adjust the spacers to get the wheels perfectly located in the wheel well.

What I like about using a corvette offset is plenty of great wheels for sale on www.corvetteforum.com

The AME sub increases the trackwidth 1/2" over a stock first gen sub.
I believe the question of spacers on Jack Ass was brought up in the build thread. Either Charley or Mark stated they did not use any spacers.

I'm using C5 offsets on my car. Just as you said, there tends to be a plethora of affordable wheels do to their availability. I found a set of reproduction wheels similar to that of the C6 Z06 that I'll be using on my car.
I'm building a 12 bolt with a flange to flange of 61.5" to fit the C5 wheels. This will give me a slightly under a 1" tollerance to the edge of my wheel well.

I believe C6 Z rear wheels are 19x12 with a +79 offset. By my calulation with a 2.75" mini-tub. (Standard DSE) you would need a 62.75" axle, and it would leave you with a hare under .5" clearance on either side of the wheel.
A word of advice: Each car is different so this is only going to get you in the ballpark. Insure you measure everything on your car multiple times and make sure my assumptions are correct before going out to order everything.

You are not going to need much spacer, on a stock subframe 1/2" spacer works with c6z06 wheels on a 67-68 camaro. Believe it or not. Reason? backspace/offset is different from c6 wheels, the hub to hub width on a c6 and c6z is the same, the wide body and wide stance of the z06 is done with wider fenders and wider rims offset to the outside.

Here are pics of c6 z06 rims on Randy (ProBell)'s 67; stock subframe, 1/2" spacers f/r, rolled fender lips. The tires are really pushed out on his car, on a 69 you may not want as much spacer. In a shameless plug, they are my spare rims for the z06 (changed to chrome), these polished ones are for sale $1500 w/75-80% tread left. -Dan

randys(probell) front subframe may not be a "aftermarket" piece but its been altered... so thats not really a good example.

as of taking that picture, the track width was stock, stock spindles with alum hubs (not the current big pin setup), stock subframe was not notched. I put them on my car to verify the tie rod and sway bar cleared and global west lower arms too. They are no different in width than the 285/17's CarlC runs.
