NUTS, did you see that dozer sitting there? What if he got a little out of shape and hit that thing? Like Pat Travers used to say, "Boom, Boom, out go the lights".

Yeah that would suck! The thing is he landed in about a foot deep of sand.So his momentum was slowed quickly. He is actually taking some heat for not doing it on hard pack,go figure

I saw that he landed in the soft sand but if he had landed with his butt on the rear fender he would have pulled on the throttle. I don't know if you have ridden a 2 smoke 250 lately but the accelleration is fairly quick.

And taking heat on a double backflip? Whatever! The guys who are giving him heat should get their butts out there and show us how it's done. What tricks will these guys think of next?

Yeah, I'd like to see the guys that are saying that pull it off as well.

The guys up here that perfected the single back flip on a sled actually practiced on a ramp at the edge of a lake in the summer. No one gave them a hard time.

He's been doing them into his foam pit for a while, guess he finally took the plunge to terra firma. I have no doubt he'll do it on hard pack soon enough but man you gotta give the boy some time to get comfortable.

As for landing on the fender, you learn how to pull that stuff off with out pulling on the throttle. Or you be darn sure your hangin onto the clutch at the same time.

Bah 2 smokers are puny, all hail the YZ450

I ride a 15:1 comp 426

I can't get used to the 4 strokes in the woods, too big. With my riding style I tend to steer too much with the rear wheel and it's easier on my YZ250. Don't ride much MX, Hare Scrambles and some Enduros.

Give it time, took me a few months to feel comfortable on the thumper coming from a YZ250, now I can't stand the 2 strokes. I do a lot of grandprix style events as well as moto-x. Granted my 426 with the higher compression and cams feel more like a 2stroke with the power band, it still has the great power delivery and brutal torque Nothing like having a bike you can moto on the weekends and will run 100+mph in the desert.

This old dog don't wanna go that fast anymore. Maybe my nuts have shrunk a little over the years or I've broken a few bones too many. I had a serious get off in '99 while 5th gear pinned and I've been a little gun shy since. I don't want my daughter to see me like that again.

The woods here in TX and LA tend to be more on the tight side. When I'm forced to go 4stroke I'll go with a big bore YZF250.

BTW, I've been behind my share of modded 4strokes and it flat hurts getting pelted with that roost. Gives you much more incentive to either pass or back off a tad to make your move. I raced over 30A Hare Scrambles and some of those dudes flat smoke.
