there are a few rattlecan 2 part primers out there that are one time use. they have a pouch in the bottom with hardener in them that you have to puncture. then shake and spray..

standox makes a 2 part epoxy rattle can as well, one can goes alot further then you think
its called ep pre coat

anything that is not catalized under filler,is a bad idea, I'm sure some old shool butchers will tell you it's fine,just hose on some lacquer primer,git'r dun, DO NOT listen to them! I'f the primer you're thinking about using does not need catalyst/hardener,find one that does

Ok, the only reason I was even considering it was to make sure any tiny pinholes or edges had some primer in it before I spread filler. But it was more of a curiosity than anything, I'll probably let my body guys take care of it.
