Depending on the situation you could spend anywhere from $20K for your own booth or be paid to bring your car to someones booth, and everything in between. We went our first year on our own nickel.

To be honest, showing at SEMA is more for your own ego then promoting your builds. It is all other builders there, so the chances of someone saying WOW, that is killer, here is a quarter million, build me one! Are slim and none. You would do way better running the Goodguys circuit with end users to promote your builds.

BUT.......................... if you need to say, "I had a car at SEMA" as a 100 things to do befoire your die line item, then go for it.

it sounds like your asking $$$ to be a vendor???
20.00 per square foot if your a SEMA member +++++++ shipping, carpet, move in cost, electrical hotel, rental car.......... do i need to keep going???

Well, yes. It would be great to have a car st SEMA, that would be respected. I don't expect to compete with Killer or Prodigy. I was mostly wondering about getting a car outside or in the halls. I know a guy with some bucks that wants into SEMA real bad. He would sponsor me but I am not sure how that would work. If your car is there, is that an auto ticket into the show?

Typically if you cannot get your self in when you land a booth spot, the company your displaying with will get you tickets. If you build a nice enough car and take it to a few shows people so people notice it, someone might approach you. Otherwise you have to go on the offensive. That can be alot of work. Booth spots are getting harder and harder to get because of smaller and smaller booths. Outside booth spots have to be paid for by displaying vendors.

Ok, maybe I forgot to mention that I am able to get into SEMA no problem, my customer can't but he wants to. Can he have me build a car and he gets a pass? And of all the cars I have seen outside, I can't remember seeing any "built by" ads or anything, that's why I was wondering what the scoop was on those. And what kind of money are we talking?
