He is doing the best option, that is for sure.. But to be honest, if the factory trim end pieces are thinned down(tall edges taken off so it fits flush to the lower pillar inset) and painted the same color of the car, it looks awsome too.. The trim remaining stainless on the Yellow 69 in my pics was the car owners choice..

But, I have seen the trimmed end pieces(Lower Trim Pillar Ends) painted satin black, car color, and completly left off, I like the piece painted the same color.. Infact, it is the closest thing you can get to Richards without having to do the paint body alteration.
