todd, call i think its mark at turn one, the way they build there pumps, they run way cooler, i have a turn one pump on my ls1, and it has integral reservoir and i have not had any issues, however once you drive on track alot, its wise to change fluid every 350-400 laps.
nice job,
as you saw in the spin the importance of being smooth and letting the car react before you do, things can get unsettled very quickly.
I'm glad I found the edge right at the end of my day. I think I had a little to much rear brake in the car as well. Right at the end of the longest back straight the car started to get loose under heavy braking. I'll dial a couple turns of back brake out of it next time. It's amazing how quickly you don't realize just how fast you're going. The car has a bunch of potential. I need some serious work. I'll call Mark at turn one tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up. The track was way to crowded for my taste. The first heat the car behind me was getting a little closer than I would like. The second heat gave me a real taste for road racing, the car, and track. It was a blast man!
best thing to do is mess around on street with brake bias, get it close, then dial in AS much rear brake as you can till rears lock up before fronts, then go half turn back. i always do this at each track and keep notes for different tracks, as well as tire temps, pressures etc.
for example at nh, because of more right hand turns, i pre set right rear pressure to 27 and left rear to 32, both end up at 36-38 hot, but tire temp readings told me i needed to adjust.
It's funny because I've played around with it on the street and never locked up the rears first. The heat really changed the feel in a good way. It may have been due to getting into the corner to hot and starting to lock up a front as well. Next time I hope to have more time to play.
slow in fast out... especially with the weight on the nose of your car, always get your braking done before turn in, if not susp will be very unsettled. kinda like in the spin.
whens the next track event?
