Optima Invitational open to spectators?

I'm off next weekend and 8 hours away from LV so I thought it would be a great way to spend my long weekend but could not find any info in regards to just watching the event. Are spectators not affiliated with any of the cars allowed to watch?

Yes. They charged $5 to get in and I think you had to sign a release.

This year we're not charging $5, but you still have to sign a release to get in. We don't encourage spectators because the track is not really set up for spectator events and safety is our main concern, there is a lot of cars moving at once throughout the paddock area. That being said, we don't discourage fans either, so come out and have some fun for the day, just don't bring 10,000 of your best friends!
