Default my feelings on the us and job loss ect

im all for usa only but we just dont have enough things made here.its a shame im posting this on a hp puter/non american.gonna watch a sony tv tonight ect ect. i used to drive by the local bmw dealer with my viper and hollor out the window at the salesman and his prey/hey buy american you live here.i would then burn rubber down the road.they probably said look at that redneck/lol our country is in a serious rapid downfall.unless we all unite about it things will be the same.obama should offer huge tax breaks for our companies to manufacture here ect ect.
i feel for the optima people there just a small hurdle in the grand scheme the companys heading.
i do maintenance for a company with over 600 to 850 properties ranging from 550 a month to over 5k a month.we do it all with a workforce of about 17 guys.ive been on 16 years now and we just lost our pensions/took all overtime took our bonus at fathers day which was an extra months pay!!im waiting for them to come down one day and say there selling out or going with a maintinance service company.times are really changing and unless we the american people dont pull together were gonna be in others hands sooner than we think.im not racist or a biggot but there is not even a 7 11 or a gas station around here that still is american owned and operated.im sad for our forfathers who never thought this would happen.only good thing i still have a job to report to for now but for how long ill never know.its a week by week thing.hope you optima guys come out strong and positive

:lol what planet are you living on? I say that with all the kindness I can muster. Seriously, no administration is looking to give companies tax breaks. This president has been bashing every industry from doctors doing unneccessary procedures to make a buc, to wall street taking too big of risks, to greedy bankers and insurance companies, to auto companies not taking care of the unions.

They DO NOT WANT A FLOURISHING private market. There is no other way to say it. As a matter of fact they are about to nail any industry left here with 2 gigantic new taxes, healthcare reform and the global warming legislation. You can kiss the manufacturing base in this country GOODBYE.

It's hard to even imagine how far they will go to ruin what little is left. The largest employer in this country is government. If that doesn't turn on the flood light in americans heads, then nothing will.

Sorry for the rant.

Default I think this sums up what is going on today.

THE ANT AND THE GRASSHOPPER

Two Different Versions! ................. Two Different Morals!

OLD VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long,
building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays
the summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his
house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays
the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and
demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed
while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC , PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering
grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
America is stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper
is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries
when they sing, 'It's Not Easy Being Green.'

Acorn stages a demonstration in front of the ant 's house where the news stations
film the group singing, 'We shall overcome.' Rev. Jeremiah Wright then has the group
kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the
ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax
hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act
retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs
and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is
confiscated by the Government Green Czar.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the
ants food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the
ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now
abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote in 2010

VERY, VERY TRUE my man!! Seems like Kill America is the Administration's goal. At the rate this Administration is going, they're doing a good job of ruining America and it's beliefs more and more everyday, right under our noses.

VERY, VERY WELL SAID!! Spot on, my man!! We're on the wrong path to "recovery" or "change". Too bad we didn't know the "change" that we were getting is a "radical change" that most Americans don't want.

What's ridiculous about this is, HP has thousands of employees in America, Sony too, and BMW manufacturers thousands of cars here every year, as does Toyota and most other foreign car manufacturers.

The fact is the economy is global now, and it only makes sense for a business to try to reduce their costs and make things where they can do it the cheapest. If you run a business and your competitor goes to China, what do you do? It's rare that you can appeal to the made in the USA crowd like say Edelbrock does and be successful.

And for people who get political about this, do you think anything the administration has done has affected this at all? I know that in my industry, the concern goes way back, and let's be clear, the administration saving GM will have saved tens of thousands of jobs, even though the company had cut tens itself.

What the jobs thing and manufacturing thing really comes down to is companies do not give a damn about their employees. It does not matter who is President, who runs congress, etc, if a company can make more money by doing something, they will do it.
