You can get a set of 8.1 valve covers, coils...and plugs - it will bolt right on the other head...and you are good to go:

No way those 8.1 valve covers will clear my shaft rockers.

Only reaon I would liek to stick with my current dist and mod it to use as a sync is with my current intake/head setup my distributor depth requires an adjustable collar to get full gear engagement. The vortec dist would have to be modded to work which is a bit of a pain. That may change with a new efi intake though too.

I couldn't find anything from grannetelli either...

Could you get a welding shop to cut and weld on some of these covers and get the clearance you need?

Any of the basic aluminum or steel covers can be modified to accept the coil-packs. Abit of material to make stands and some welding, and use the valve covers of your choice.

Default BBC with DIS CNP

I have answered this request for over 20 years,
"DIS with a BBC, CNP".

My systems have been used by racers AND OEM's.

The first systems used an 8" wheel with a VR sensor and "twin post" coils (8) with ONE post grounded to the head.

That problem was solved when I made a "single" post very high output coil. (World Record)
The GEN-4 BBC solved another problem, the 8" target wheel/bracket.
We now mounted the 36-1 target in the place of the 4 tooth target.
(inside the engine, under the front cover)

The next advance was when I invented the Oil Pump Drive with a 48-2 target. (24x)
This has the Hall sensor mounted (Bradley tank) into the bottom of the housing.
This "gear down" decode wheel allows for sequential coils AND injectors all with ONE sensor.
No crankshaft target is required with this fitment.

I will always help ALL who ask me questions within the field of my expertise.

Lance
