i gotta say the best sprint car racing ive ever seen was at placerville for the 2008 civil war series. If i remember correctly it took like 70+ laps to finish the 30 lap MAIN due to every driver running so hard that they kept crashing...even by themselves. other then it was freezing that night it was some amazing racing!

Yes he did . He was the track promoter and raced there. I've got a picture of him in victory lane with me being about 7 or 8 years old.
I can remember watching sprints, mods and other cars racing there.

Did you go there ??
