My neighbor has a 74 (white, black top with a 440 he stuffed in it). He is facing the same issues, not much aftermarket support. He has to either build, modify or restore old parts to get what he wants. My point is that he IS doing it. It just takes longer. But it can be done. It's your car, cut into it if that is what you want. make it the way you want it. Otherwise you will not enjoy it.

Ya I am slowly picking away at mine too, slowly getting there
but ya, with money like it is right now, I just sometimes wish
there was some aftermarket support..

Dont worry, its not going anywhere though

If he ever brings it out from under the tons of crap stacked on it I will get you some pics. Don't let yours go that route. Keep moving forward on it. His has not seen the light of day in the 8 years I have lived here.

hang in there and build it the way you want, it may take a little longer but who really cares! A project is a project no matter what stage it is in. As for cutting it up, its yours to do whatever makes you happy. As a owner of a old mopar myself Ive heard some say that I shouldnt have done what I did to my superbee but who cares what the purist think. Im a hot rodder 1st Mopar man 2nd.

If you really want the OD manual trans, there's a lot of options, just not many complete kits. Start here : http://www.quicktimeinc.com/products.html#mopar

Looks like a cool project, I like the color. A friend of mine in school had a purple one, we had alot of fun terrorizing the town in it.
