where to find vinyl for custom console

I just finished up a custom center console and I was wondering where to find the best materials/adhesives to finish up the project.

I dont know if you have a Joann Fabrics near you but I just got 2 yards of textured vinyl for 4 dollars a yard. It looks really good. The lady there said to use Gorilla glue to wrap my dash.

3M makes a great spray adhesive called Spray 90. Or maybe Super90 now. You can find it at Lowes and Home Depot. They also sell Spray77 and it is NOT the same strength. Get the Spray 90. The fumes are fun...I mean use a respirator with it. Spray both surfaces with a medium to heavy coat, let it tack up and then stick it. It will still stick even after both surfaces dry to the touch, just stick it when you are ready. But be warned, when it is stuck it is STUCK. Get it right the first time. One can goes a long way. It also has an adjustable fan and volume control nozzle.
You can get vinyl at just about any fabric store and that 3M product works great with it.

EDIT: The gorilla glue is good for a lot of things but it can get brittle and let go at the corners or edges. The 3M Spray 90 is much better for this kind of thing. There are other types of spray adhesives from industrial sources but they are just stronger versions of the same thing.(Spray 90)

Your right about the 3M glue,It will work for the guys that do not have a spray gun and bulk containers of glue.Don't use Gorilla glue for that

It's great stuff. I have used it for years in the cabinetry trade. A lot of custom furniture and built in systems (audio/video) with custom speaker enclosures in homes. It has always held great indoor and outdoor on my projects. I have also used it in my own cars and bever had any troubles. Much easier than a spray gun system.

I know what you mean Tracy. The spray systems are the only way to go in a shop (production) and some of those are very hard core. We used some Lockweld products for doing laminate countertops and it has some serious stick to it! The products will break/tear long before the glue will let go. Back in the good old days before the EPA got involved the glues were even better. But for the small project, home job or little repair the spray cans work great.
