Thumbs up Running a 4L60E behind a 455 Pontiac

Is this possible? I know the bell housing would be different, does anyone here know of a supplier that has this conversion? I have the 4L60E and converter. thanks!

it should be possible even with an adapterplate... but depending on the output of 455 you will need some modifications to make the transmission last.. also you will need a controller like compushift to operate the transmission

Thumbs up

Here is an adapter that will help you out. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TC...art=TCI-230001 Hopefully the 60 holds up to the 455.

As I've been told -- the 60E is only a 700r4 with "electronic shifting".... having said that -- and if that is true - then I would say that the other comments on having it "built" would be appropriate. I'm running a BowTie Overdrives Stage 3 700r4 behind a 427 small block that put down 489 RWHP.... I hammer the heck out of it - but have relatively small rear tires (I call them - "my slow blow fuse")... so am not really being that hard on the trans since I can't hook up.
