Oh wait -- it could be in the running for "the longest ever time from start to finish"? That car was as Wayne Dues like 5 years ago when I bought my subframe from him... Saw it at Rogers a couple of months ago - looked pretty much the same... raw steel.
You're right Greg - my point in including it at all was (a) the new chassis is really, really cool and (IMHO) better engineered than the one that is in this post (an offset cell - really?) and (b) there are some pretty basic similarities in the front end styling and while the car in this post does not carry that theme through the car, Tyler's design did (ie the rockers and the front air damn were on the same plane) and (c) it was kind of a free plug since it's for sale ( ). But you're right, at this point it capabilities are all supposition and until it is done it's not in the running.

So... let's get Penny and MotiV8R and Carl together and settle this thing right now! The 2010 Baddest 1968 Camaro in the Universe Street Car Invitational (?)

"i built the chassis alone cut the car in half elarge of 5 inches to get a 64 inches of track whit 14 inches of tire at the back 335/35zr18 and 63 inches of track at front whit 12 inches of tire 285/35zr18"

Cut a car in half and widened it 5 inches !!! That's just stupid !!

James -- Thanks for seeing me eye to eye...

Okay -- Now on to Larry's MotiV8R.... After his "excursion" at Pahrump.... you really think he's EVER going to track that car again? I'm thinking that car
gets packed in cotton balls and never hits red line again.

Penny is just flat bad to the bone... does it all really well - and looks good... and with Steve's new motor it will do it even better... I would hope.

I'm in... just let me get that new 440 installed.. lol

What other "cool" 68s are out there? Velocity over at Ridetech is pretty badass.. I know I'm missing some.

I would run against this car.. after all I have nothing to lose. lol

If I win it's "Hey, I beat a million $$$$ Camaro!"
If I lose then it's "Hey, what do you expect, the guy had a million $$$$ Camaro!"

It looks like Karma might be done this year. There is another one with a ton of performance potential in it. I think once it is dialed in and Anthony has a bit of seat time that it will be a real contender in the performance arena. And the build quality is also outstanding too!

Karma is in the running for the same competition 50/50 is up for...

Only it's in the lead by a paint job and a motor!

Loved the spread on his paint in the Camaro Performers mag...

No, only that the performance of some of these cars was compared and I think that Karma will be/could be on par with these cars in that area. AFTER a complete shakedown and some serious tuning of both the car and the driver. My point was that Karma is right up ther in quality and possibly performace with the best of them. (obviously the performance has yet to be seen)

I'd still be bringing a trowel to a gunfight, and loving every minute of it. Thanks for the invite James. Put some blue tape over your windwings and we'll count yours as a '68 too. Just let us know when and where!

To each his own on builds like this. The fabrication and ideas on this project are great. Even if there are things that you don't like, there are lots of cool ideas that we could find ways to incorporate. Are there things I would change? Yes, but that may not fit what the owner of this car wanted. Sometimes appearances are forced to change or be out of sync due to the drivetrain requirements of the car.
