Default Is it worth it to port L92 heads??

I have a stock L92 that I will be putting into my 68 Acadian(Nova). I plan on running a Mast Motorsports SS cam, their controller, Stainless Works longtube headers and a 102mm FAST intake with a 102mm Nick Williams DBW throttle body. With that set up, I hope to be around 550 - 570 hp. What I'm wondering though....would it be worth it to have my heads ported? How much of a gain would I see and what price range would I be looking at to have it done? Also, is there anyone that you could recommend, preferably in Canada or West coast if possible. Thanks in advance.

Talk to Tom Nelson of NELSON racing engines he has a CNC program for these heads and also a good five angle valve job is worth some numbers too.

Thanks for the Intake manifold. I still haven't put the whole combo together, Im going to wait until this summer.

i have a set of cnc ported heads from TEA, total engine airflow.. and they are TOP NOTCH...
the L 92 heads flow in the big block chevy teritory http://www.totalengineairflow.com/products/gmhead/gml92
the 550-570 hp are attainable (~500 rwhp with the right cam..) with these heads...

i dont know what tom nelsons heads flow.. but TEA are the s#it for lsx engines...

and you ask, is it worth porting the heads... well is worth more than the fast intake.. so if you are having to choose... its heads before intake

It's not worth the money to port these heads for the gain you will get. I just had this discussion last week w/ Kurt Urban Performance and he said to not do it because I'd be sick after spending the money on it and seeing the flow numbers. There isn't that much to be gained.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to leave them alone for now. I'm going to wait until the project is actually done and see what kind of number I have then. If I'm not happy, I'll look at some options then.
