Anybody in the Airline Industry care to explain

The airlines are such a goofy bunch. What it comes down to is that one carrier started to enforce the charge of extra baggage and then it snow balled from there. Now everyone it trying to make money and of course if one airline does it, they all have to do it. What frustrates me is that they have all forgotten what customer service is all about. I like on time, friendly service with a smile. That's rare these days. Even most airline employee's will agree with me.

You are 100% correct that the airlines are slowing things down and causing delays due to their own actions. Yes it does take forever to board the aircraft these days, but it takes longer than need to clear security due to all the extra luggage being hauled in. It's a goofy system.
