I asked the same questions before I got mine and felt very comfortable exceeding that rating. Due to the 1st gear ratio, I do wish I had gone with a T56 (or the new Magnum T56 now available) FWIW.

I'm putting 700ft-lbs through my TKO with no issues so far.

Car looks awesome...I'm jealous of how light that aluminum block is.

Most if not all manufactures will rate their equipment below what it can take. After all they have to warranty the product. The old test it till it breaks then give a 20% safety margin.
