I've driven that track quite a few times..... I was suprised that this was the turn he lost it on. There are definitely a couple of other turns that are more technically difficult. As Jody stated, there is no wall on the left....only grass. It's the last turn before a big long straight..... the first thought I had was that he was really trying to carry alot of speed into that turn so he could haul ass down the straight.
His name is Carl Chica and he lives in the Bay Area, as far as I know he's been tracking the car for quite a few rears now I dont know when this wreck happened but he has had a glass clip on it for a some years.
