Default anyone here dye or paint a headliner and rear seat

im trying to get my 68 on the road and just have to cut some corners to save some.i have a light blue back seat and headliner and need to know what you guys are using for this type of job.thanksfor helping out.i want to dye them black.

I use PPG vinyl dye mixed up by a local paint supplier so I just put it in a jamb gun and shoot it. I usually get it a couple quarts at a time and it lasts for a long time in the can so if I need it a couple years later it's still fine. A quart's plenty to do a rear seat and headliner with a lot left over for other projects or touch ups down the road. You won't be able to use a HVLP gun easily because of the tip needed to shoot the headliner if it's in place. Like anything prep is key!

Headliner you could get away with...Seat not a good idea depending on use and how long you want it to last..just my 2 cents worth

My dad was Mr. Weaver I'm just Tracy..lol We use the same type of stuff in the above post that John had said,I just use Dupont products.We only dye the small plastic parts that we can't cover.Check with your local paint suppliers
