Just got the new Billet Specialties catalog and was thinking of a Tru Trac system. However, I noticed for all systems there is a warning from Billet Specialties which states Tru Trac systems are not designed for use with hydroboost braking systems. I saw some pics of the NRE super camaro and I noticed they run a Billet Specialties Tru Trac with a hydratech brake system. Can anyone shed any light on this for me?
We sell Billet Specialties Tru Track along with 4 other brands of front drive. And we sell quite a few of them. Only thing I could possibly think of is the possibility of steering / brake priority issues which we do not see as a real big issue. And see no reason why this would be a problem with the BS kit more then any other.
I will get the official answer though and let you know.
I HAVE BILLET SPECIALTIES TRU TRAC SYSTEM WITH HYDROBOOST ON MY CAMARO, AND I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES. I HAVE OVER 3,000 MILES ON BOTH SYSTEMS WITH NO PROBLEMS.
the reason for the warning is that the fluid volume is lower.. so in theory you could get aeration under braking.... It was a big problem with the march billet reservoir that holds very little fluid compared to the oem saginaw...
i think the warning text is just carried over to every non-oem reservoir to dot the I´s and cross the T´s in the hyrdaboost legal dept.. and not a measure of looming problems for you.. but i know from personal experience that the march-saginaw reservior is a no-no with a hydraboost
