I just picked it up today for $5,000. It is a LOT nicer than the 454 LT 73 Camaro I had. It has a rebuilt 355 with a 350 trans. Runs really well and drives great. It also has A/C, radio and new tires. The car doesn't have much rust, just a little bit at the bottom of the right quarter and a little bit here and there. He said the car was originally orange because you could see it in a few places plus it's the same color code that's on his other 70 Camaro. I wanted to go with black but his other Camaro looks awesome in H/O..
Plans are to lower it, 18 inch wheels, LS1/T56 swap and paint it orange.
Good deal Trey! His Orange car looks nice....anything done to it other than wheels? What's the story on the 67-8?
Not sure what else is done to it, didn't look under the hood. It is really nice inside and out but he took it to the store one day and someone kicked in the door. The 67 he just bought and has no motor or trans but the interior looks nice. The body is done and he needs to paint it. The 67 is his, the orange 70 is his wifes and the one I bought was his sons.
I can't believe some people....who would kick someone's car?
I have met plenty.. I busted out the window of a truck one time because some fags were throwing stuff at my car. I keep a rock in the cup holder because usually I get pennies and bottles thrown at me about once a month.
How long are you keeping this one before its up for sale?
Lol I am actually going to fix this one. I wanted to do the chevelle but it was filled with bondo.. This car is nice and shouldn't take much for paint. Plus my boss is going out of town so I should be able to have it painted pretty quick..
Started tearing into the quarters today. I was thinking oh no biggie, some fiberglass over the pin holes and were all good. But under that bondo was some nasty holes and some horrible patchwork filled with bondo. The left quarter wasn't too bad but the right one was nasty. I cut out quite a bit of the right quarter and patched it but I still need to patch the trunk drop offs. Of course we have the ****tiest welder in Texas so all my welds look horrible. I spent an hour just trying to set the damn thing up but the welds are good and the metal isn't going anywhere.
This week my friend is going to grind it back down and clean up my work and then we will smooth it out with filler. But I got a lot done today, all of the hard work is done now and will be smooth sailing from here. I just ran out of time which is why the patch work looks ****ty but it will be cleaned up soon.
