align sub-frame and measure for coilovers

I figured I would just do two questions in one thread instead of two seperate threads. I read a long time ago how to find number 2 but can't seem to find it anymore.

1. I want to make sure my sub frame is in my car correctly, lined up perfectly. It's a wayne due c4 subframe. how?

2. Next is where do I make my measurements to find compressed and extended height for coilovers? How do I simulate compressed? floorjack under the lower arm? and extended? I'll be using Proma Star QA1 Double Adjustable.

I have a wayne due & it has no holes for the alignment pin, not sure if yours does. Check out this thread-

I had a tough time just getting the subframe bolts lined up to the cage nuts in the body. I dont think there is any play for me to move the subframe if its not square. I have not gotten that far as to measure, but i hope its very close. Let us know how it goes! Scott

There should be some 5/8" alignment holes drilled on the front (at the firewall) mounting ears on the subframe next to the holes where your bolts and bushings go. Drop a plumb blob to the ground and mark the concrete. Then, go to the front of the rear framerail and there is a 1/2" or 5/8" alignment hole in front of the oval slot. Drop a plumb bob from that one as well. Then just take X measurements from the front to rear to get it square.

There's several other areas you can pull dimensions from as well, but these two are the most common. I also used core support holes for my front points of measurement. This will give you a longer dimension to pull for potentially better accuracy.

Don't overthink it too much. I racked my brains trying to get it exact and spent WAAAY too much time doing it. Remember that your car is 40 years old.
