Default Had an amazing Friday off. Car collection photos and AMG experience @ El Toro

Then we headed down to the AMG experience at El Toro. AMG builds amazing cars but they're just not my thing. I just wanted to flog them. Sadly traction control remained on and instructors rode along.

I love the SLS. But I would murder for the red SL300 in the background. I'd prefer a replica with an LSX so I could track it..

Sexiest ass in the business. One of them

Murder maim kill for this.

MMMM CLK DTM one of the few modern cars I'd love to drive.

Lined up, pick your car, get your helmet sock and helmet and hit the autocross

beautiful 190SL. This would be fun to swap in an Sl55 powerplant and brakes...

Nice rod representing in the parking lot. Mirrors are good.

I spoke with this owner extensively. Nice guy. Ordered as a AMG Black Label CLK, wrapped in vinyl first week, then wheels, then tuned by Renntech to the tune of 650whp 700ft/lbs

Pardon the quality I used my phone...

DPE Forged

Bad shot of a nice Ford GT

Drive home down PCH was beautiful and got stuck in Friday Rush hour traffic. 2 hours 35 minutes from El Toro to Silver lake

Typical Prius driver doing everything BUT driving. (as I take a picture.)

I didnt enjoy the autocross one bit. Too short, no where to use power, 90 degree elbow turns, it was setup way too tight. Max speed was 40mph. I'll stick to track days but do respect the purpose of autocross. I just believe muscle cars have no business dodging cones, just like AMG's. Its like bringing a bazooka to a squirtgun fight. To each their own. Its a great place to hone your car control regardless.

Hope yall enjoyed.

what I miss about living in SoCal = the car culture
what I don't miss = driving 2.5 hrs to go from OC to LA.

When I was working in El Segundo and getting my MBA at UCLA I would leave work at 5pm for 7pm classes and there were days I was late... 18 miles from work to UCLA and 2hrs was sometimes not enough time Typically it was 1.5 hrs to go that 18 miles on the 405.

That shot along PCH reminds me taking the back way up to Marina Del Rey out of El Segundo tho'

I was out there in August for the 6-man tournies in Manhattan Beach and in one afternoon I saw a Murcielago, Porsche GT, two Ferraris (older 355 and a 430) and a high end Benz (I dunno the models, not my thing, but the whiz bang 2 door with long nose and big HP) - the Benz, GT and 355 just while grabbing a beer with a buddy at the Redondo Beach Brewing Co. Definitely don't see that around Denver, tho' my buddy saw a Gumpert on the freeway one day
