how do you guys deal with frustration of the build

We all go triple over budget, and having a car out of paint in the time you've done it is great! Take two steps back and enjoy!

Don't lose faith, Man. The last 10 steps and all the nickel and dime crap you realize is required to finish any project are always the most time consuming and frustrating. Everyone here knows that feeling and we've all seen projects get mothballed and even sold for $.25 on the dollar at this stage because people threw their hands up and walked away but you have to stay with it.

I know this about the build process and myself and the simple art of biting off more than you can chew and it is exactly why I bought the nicest most original car I could find and have limited my build to small-medium upgrades one or two at a time so the car isn't out of commission for months and years at a time. That doesn't help you any at this point, I'm just saying that I can relate and this is how I combat it.

Keep the faith, Brother and just remind yourself why you started and pop in here when you need a pep talk or just a push in the right direction.

write down a "punch list" and work through it - one step at a time-

step back and finish all the easy stuff first

If that doesn't work... take a week or two off from it-

Great advice is given here, that is why I enjoy this site. One thing to think about is just to be thankful that you have the opportunity to build a car, and a pretty awesome one that at that! A car that many can only dream about. I hear guys at work all the time that say "man, I wish I had the ability or funds to build a camaro, or classic car" It is pretty cool that we are able to enjoy this hobby and own a piece of history.

Working on cars for me has become a place that I can relax my mind and put the outside garbage aside. Garage=Sanctuary? Maybe somewhat.

I suffer from classic car ADHD from time to time. Like Youthpastor mentioned, I do the same thing also. It has helped me to write out what I need to get done on my dry erase board and focus on those things until they are completed.

BTW, Can we get some more pictures of that thing?

Some times I just have to walk away from it for awhile. Work on another project or do something totally different and when the mood hits come back to it.
