Nice ride Dave, that thing sounds awesome. Like the viper blue paint with the black wheels.

Well.. I was already planning on making the trip down to El Toro for RTTC in February, but after a few days in Vegas culminating in seeing the Optima shootout in Pahrump, I now have tunnel vision and am on a mission to get this car ready for the event. Hell, it's all I've thought about this whole week!

I plan on getting with a group of Bay Areans to make the trip down and am really looking forward to it. But for now, I am sourcing a few things to get ready, but am not going overboard. SEMA/Optima was bittersweet in that it's the premier event for our pro-touring niche, but it makes you want to spend all your money on more badass parts!

Here's what I am going to do in the next month or so and call it good:

rear Wilwood 12" brakes/4 piston
rear Varishocks
rear Hellwig sway bar
235/315 Nitto NT05 tires to meet 200 treadwear rule
Canton Road Race oil pan
2.5 lb fire extinguisher

And I just picked this barely used Be Cool radiator with dual Spal fans for a great price of craigslist today. Paid just over $500.. sells for $1100+

I'm so stoked to do the RTTC... this bug really seems to be getting a lot more people lately. I'll be starting a Bay Area RTTC thread soon.

why such small fronts?
i checked the nitto site and thats a 24.4" tire thats really short for a muscle car... what about the 255s there .5 tall and .5 wider, can you run that width of a tire on the front of your car? with a 235/315 setup the car might push a bit since the size difference is so big.

yeah Mike, after "Trackday" on the PT forum basically grenaded his SBC after 1 track day, I decided this was a priority.

Ya know, you're right on that. I never checked the height differences. With the front suspension mods, I am pretty sure the 255s should fit then. Nice call.

Hey, I need a crew chief.. interested?

Nice score on the radiator setup Dave.

As much as I love the current stance of the car, you could come up a little in the front to lessen the number of ant's you decapitate going down the road! Not to mention less chance of more oil pan/scattershield damage
